Great growth stock but very high risk. The brand is on fire.

The stock is very expensive on a p/e basis, and if they don't beat the numbers this stock will get drilled.

5 year outlook for me on this one.

Marketing to girls will be the key here. Guy's market is basically tapped. Most coaches won't let players wear the full busy underarmour suits.

Yeah SSI. Keep up the good work. 54% over 500 plays is impressive. 59 will be sick and all you need to do is keep doing what you are doing.

No doubt hitman has been solid here.

Ive seen him post stocks here that initially went lower, but they come back and end up much higher than when he enters.

That surgical stock he owns dumped initially, but he held and its went through the roof the past year.

Good luck with this one H26.

Its not the type of stock I want to own right now, but there is no question this company has innovative and sharp upper mgt.

Thanks Woof: ISRG still has a ton of room to grow and is the single greatest investment I've ever made in my life, and I don't think i will ever find another one as good as long as I live.

Guys, I'm hearing that Under Armour is entering the sneaker market in early-mid 08. They will start with one cross country sneaker and grow from there if there is enough demand. I don't see why they can't grab a nice share of the sneaker market by 2011. Most of us have at least one pair of tennis shoes. I haven't seen the shoe and I'm going only on the "coolness" of the brand and their past performances of entering untapped markets.

UA is really catching fire in Europe and that is plenty of "untapped" market for me.

Under Armours recent share price weakness is being blamed on the warm weather. If they miss this quarter because of the warm weather, then I will double or triple down on my position after earnings are reported on October 30th. I'm not so sure they will miss and if they even miss slightly I don't expect a huge sell off because it's getting priced in right now. If they blowout numbers then it's back to the 70's in a flash.

I rate this as a very high risk stock and I wouldn't be shocked to be down 50% or more withing the next year but I think the rewards are well worth the risks.

Just read where the officers of the company as well as some big funds are unloading their UA. CEO sold 10% of his stake.

4 years and 11 months left for me on this one. Earnings were great but the price action hasn't been.

I like it even more now than I did 1 month ago.

Update:

Well this has been a stinker of a stock for me. 42$ and change grrrrrr. I still really like it and feel it's a broken stock but not a broken company. I will wait for earnings next month and if all is still going well (business wise) I will look to add a little more. This is the ahem "fun" of investing in high growth stocks. They gyrate all over the damn place in the near term and really can cause all kinds of angst.

Their new sneaker is set to launch in about 4 months and if it's a hit I feel that 3-5 years from now this could easily be a 100$ stock.

Of course if Under Armour is just a fad ala L.A. Gear or Heelys then it's going to be a 1$ stock 5 years from now at best.

Buy something that you use or understand how they make money and whos products you enjoy. For instance if you really enjoy ESPN, ABC, and Disney movies, then buy Disney. If you like Nike shoes and gear then buy Nike. If you enjoy eating at Chipotle Mexican Grill then buy that stock. If you enjoy playing video games then buy some Gamestop or Electronic Arts. Maybe you are addicted to shopping Ebay or Amazon. Maybe you use your Mastercard a ton. Perhaps you are spending 100 bucks a week on Cheveron or Exxon gasoline and feel that those companies are just printing money.

If you want to play it safe then just buy SPY which is an index stock for the S&P 500 and will perform just like the overall market does. If you dabble in individual stocks then your returns will swing a lot and you may lose it all. It's all about your risk tolerance.

If you really want to gamble then take a look at vrtx. It's a biotech play and I think it could double or triple by the end of the year. However there is a really good chance that it could go to zero. Lots of data is due out later this year and it could really fly or flop. I rate Vertex as super high risk/super high reward.

Under Armour would be a good one to start with just to get your feet wet but it's still pretty risky and could lose half its value if we head into a big recession. I rate this as high risk/reward.

SJM (Smuckers) is a great defense stock and is about as low risk as it gets for an individual company. Low risk/low-med reward.
